Increasingly, corporations are retaining key employees and executives after the “normal” retirement age of 65.  According to Statistics Canada, last year there were over 300,000 Canadians over age 65 working up from about 200,000 in 1996.  We are able to offer coverage on executives or employees long term disability coverage, after age 65 when their group LTD expires.
 
Transition LTD
An individual disability insurance product designed specifically to provide temporary income replacement coverage to terminated employees during their career transition period. We have produces that can be purchased directly by the employee, or by the employer. For Employees: It allows them to protect themselves against potentially catastrophic consequences of a long term and possibly career-ending injury or illness.  It can provide peace of mind until they are re-employed and covered elsewhere. For Employers: By providing this benefit as part of a severance package, the employer may be protected from potential liability if the employee were to suffer a serious illness or injury during their severance period.
